Afra & Tobia Scarpa Artona coffee table for Maxalto, Italy 1975
Stunning mid century modern Afra & Tobia Scarpa 'Artona' coffee table was made using a variety of woods to achieve it's eclectic yet simple timeless design. Included in the materials list are walnut, beechwood, birch, oak, maple, fruitwood and burl veneer. The top face of the coffee table is burl, and visible through the veneer are the legs of the table, creating a square of wooden dots on either ends of the table. The surrounding edge of the table is cut and inlaid alternating light and dark wood to create clean lines that elongate the shape.
This table is in great condition, there is one spot on the edge of the top face, it's included in the photos.
