Stunning 19th century R. J. Horner & Co. oak hall clock. In ticking condition! Clock face has brass numbering and ornate corners in a floral motif. The makers mark can be found right above the six hour number. There is also a smaller seconds face just under the twelve hour number. Above the face there is a demi-lune moon dial, a wonderful touch! Two 3 dimensional portraits of men wearing ruffs are smiling on the top corners of the body of the clock. The base is intricately carved in a matching floral motif as found in the clock face. Constructed from oak wood. Originally purchased through Tiffany's.
R. J. Horner & Co made sought-after furniture in the late 19th century and early 20th century that has held up in style and quality of construction. An R. J. Horner piece can elevate any space. Started in 1886 in lower Manhattan, Horner furniture was marketed towards the wealthy and working class. The company stopped manufacturing furniture in 1915.
