JOHNNY FRIEDLAENDER Signed Framed TWO BIRDS Deux Oiseaux III Engraving

Original color etching and aquatint titled Deux Oiseaux III (Two Birds III)by the pioneering German-French master printmaker Johnny Friedlaender (1912-1992).

Created in 1956, this piece marks an important transitional phase in Friedlaender's career. Moving away from naturalistic description, he constructed the birds using abstract geometry, symmetrical patterning, and delicate textures. It was originally published in an edition of 300 and distributed as the artist's personal Christmas and New Year greeting card for 1956–1957.

Signed in pencil at lower right.
