VICTORIAN Sterling Silver A&L Star Mourning LOCKET Pendant & Chain Necklace
Victorian era mourning locket stamped A&L for the business Adie & Lovekin created in 1863 by Alfred Lovekin and james Adie, originally based at Snape Street in Hockley Birmingham.
Oval sterling silver locket showing a raised star design with silver beaded accents and outlined in a repeating diamond pattern. Opens to a small compartment and where you can place a photo of your beloved. The back is hallmarked and has a B monogram (plus maybe 2 other letters). Pendant measures 1 7/8" not including bail or 2 3/8" including bail x 1 3/8" wide.
Comes with a thick 24" sterling silver (marked .925) chain.
Total silver weight of chain and pendant 22.30 grams.
Excellent condition, showing minor wear to silver.
