Pair of US Civil War candlesticks, Attributed to Veteran
Pair of brass ""doughnut"" candle sticks that screw together for easy carrying. Imported from England, and common during the US Civil War. Dimensions: 3 1/4 inches diameter. Comes w/ two threaded candle stick holders.
Reportedly belonged to William L. Stackhouse, a soldier in Co. D, 3rd Ohio Volunteer Cavalry. Stackhouse participated in numerous campaigns including Sherman's March to the Sea. After the war, Stackhouse homesteaded in Jackson County, Kansas.
