Royal Copenhagen, Denmark, Aluminia Faience Tranquebar blue pattern oval tureen with lid. Blue tulip framed by basket weave design and blue flower finial.

Measures 11 1/2" handle to handle x 7 3/4" x 6" tall. 

Excellent condition, no chips, cracks, or repairs. Surface scratching at interior base.

The Tranquebar service was created in 1914 by the painter Christian Joachim. Original production started at the Aluminia factory in 1914 and was continued by Royal Copenhagen in 1969. 

The service was named Tranquebar after the old Danish colony in India.
