LOET Vanderveen POLAR BEAR Mother & Baby Bronze Limited Edition Sculpture Pair

$1,200.00
By The Vault by Gary Germer
Minus Plus

Pair of limited edition stylized bronze animal sculptures by the famous Dutch-American artist Loet Vanderveen (1921 - 2015)

A mother or larger standing polar bear with smaller seated cub. Due to the smooth, textured finish and soft blue coloration, the patina can easily be mistaken for carved stone at first glance, but these are actually bronze treated with a light, textured celadon patina to evoke the look of Arctic ice and fur.

These are 2 separate editions, but I couldn't bear the thought of splitting mom and baby apart. Small is signed and marked limited edition 618/750, the larger is also signed and marked 451/750

Large measures 9" wide x 5" x 8" tall.

Small measures 5 1/2" x 3" x 3"

Excellent condition, show light signs of wear and minimal surface scratching.
