Originally created around 1830–1832 as part of his famous series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, this is a mid 20th century print published by T. Adashi, as marked at back of print.
The print depicts a fisherman, standing precariously on a rocky outcrop, casting his nets into the turbulent Fuji River, with a child nearby tending a basket. The work is considered a masterpiece of the series, particularly in its early blue impression (aizuri-e), and is celebrated for its dynamic portrayal of human perseverance against the power of nature
