Exquisite brass statue depicting the Tibetan Buddhist deity Vajrayogini (or Vajradakini), a fierce tantric goddess representing the wisdom and transformative energy required to overcome ignorance and ego.
Vajrayogini is shown in a dancing pose, holding a ritual flaying knife in her right hand and a skull cup in her left, with a ritual staff leaning against her shoulder, surrounded by a flame-like aura. The surrounding flamelike halo represents the blazing inner fire of spiritual awareness. One leg treads upon Kalaratri, the principal worldly goddess. Her other leg treads upon Bhairawa, the principal worldly god, demonstrating that she has destroyed her attachment, hatred, and ignorance, and to show that she is free from the fears of samsara and can lead all living beings to the same freedom.
The 'flame' and staff are removable.
