Carved Deer Antler GRIM REAPER Face Hidden Blade FOLK ART Walking Stick Cane
Antique folk art walking stick or cane handle carved from deer antler or stag horn, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The handle is intricately hand-carved from natural stag antler showing a hooded grotesque face. The elongated hood acts as the handle. I would identify the carved face as the Grim Reaper, especially due to the concealed gadget.
The tiny pin protruding from the bone collar just beneath the antler is actually a push button spring mechanism. Push the button to release the handle from the shaft and reveal a long blade.
