Marvelous antique statue of a bodhisattva. With a serene expression and a crown depicting the Buddha, this figure symbolizes spiritual enlightenment and bears resemblance to some 5th century depictions of Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of infinite compassion. Not only a beautiful work of art, but one of religious and historical significance.
This statue is relatively heavy and not freestanding.

This is an antique item that has suffered damages. There are some markings on the legs, hand, and head. Parts of the sculpture have broken off, including the lower legs, right arm, and the end of what is presumably a lotus stalk.
