Antique CHINESE Silk RABBIT Butterfly Embroidered TIGER Festival Child HAT

Adorable Chinese children's tiger hat, likely from the late 19th or early 20th century. These hats were traditionally worn by children, particularly boys, to protect them from evil spirits and bring good fortune. Made of mostly bright orange silk and features intricate embroidery and appliqués, with protruding eyes, nose, whiskers, and elongated tail. Each side of hat has finely embroidered scene of rabbits munching on tree leaves. The back shows intricate butterflies. Tiger hats symbolize bravery and strength in Chinese culture, with the tiger being known as the king of beasts. They were often worn during special occasions such as Lunar New Year celebrations and festivals. 

Excellent condition, very nice embroidery details. I can include with hat stand for display purposes.
