Japanese Edo Iron TSUBA Sword Guard Very Fine MITSU-URA Openwork Fishnet Design
Antique Japanese hand forged iron Tsuba or sword guard with very fine openwork detail. The design, sometimes referred to as Mitsu-ura or "fish net," was popular among various Japanese sword guard schools during the Edo period. Judging by the design and craftmanship it is likely from the Edo period (1600-1868).
Measures 3" x 2 7/8"
Excellent condition with light wear. Photos show light reflections, not actually showing on guard.
Comes in custom wood box with lid.
