Gorgeous Full Length Antique Chinoiserie Mercury Mirror With Bamboo Frame

Beautiful full length antique mercury mirror in Chinoiserie style. Frame is made from bamboo and the decorative crown is three segments of gilt bamboo displayed horizontally. The frame has feet on the bottom and hanging hardware so it would be possible to either hang off the wall or lean up against the wall. There are two mirror panes that make up the larger full length. The crease is about 2/3's of the way up.
Mercury mirrors are safe to own. It is advised not to lick the face of the mirror too often. Mercury mirrors stopped being produced in the 1940s due to mercury's toxic nature.

These mirrors were used in the decoration of the personal home of a well known high end interior designer from Portland, OR. Most likely these mirrors were purchased from Ed Hardy's Antique store in San Francisco. Famous for his exquisite taste in antique furniture, Ed Hardy was well known for his skill and knowledge regarding antiques. He was once featured in Architectural Digest for his personal home and style.
