English Faux Tortoiseshell and Silver-Mounted Tantalus with Four Large Decanters
Gorgeous fine faux tortoiseshell veneered and silver-mounted tantalus, of pagoda form, the hinged lid with acorn finial opening to reveal four cut crystal decanters, each within a divided wood frame. The architectural case fitted with glass panels on all sides, veneered with richly mottled faux tortoiseshell panels mounted with pierced and chased silver appliqués, raised on a molded plinth base.
Very good condition, minor surface wear to mounts and light natural age cracks to veneer, decanters intact.
