Mahogany and Brass Decagonal Single-Draw Spyglass, 18th Century
SaleDecagonal mahogany and brass single-draw spyglass/scope. Unmarked, probably English, dating to the late 18th century. 13 inch collapsed length. Draw works, although somewhat wobbly. Eyepiece end is somewhat loose on body, missing one brass pin. Image focuses and is clear, although there is visible internal dirt. Minor cracking in mahogany and age-related nicks, but finish is in surprisingly good condition overall. Eyepiece cover is present, objective lens cover is missing.
