Antique CHINESE Elaborate Silk Embroidered DRAGON Tiger Baby Hat with BUTTERFLY

Elaborate antique Chinese festival hat in the form of a tiger or dragon, likely dating from late 19th to early 20th century. Silk fabric in bright colors with ornate beading, embroidery, and appliques. Some outstanding features on this particular hat include bulging eyes and nose, ornate floral embroidery, and a butterfly antennae at top.

This would have been worn by children while parading through street festivals, known to protect them from evil spirits and bring good fortune. Overall very good condition, showing some stains and wear, no major rips or tears. Measurements of hat while on stand, which is included, 8" x 6" x 16"
