Antique Japanese woodblock print Sadanobu Hasegawa III (1881 -1963) titled Warrior Sasaki Takatsuna on a White Horse.

The print depicts the warrior Sasaki Takatsuna mounted on a white horse named Ikezuki. It illustrates the famous race across the Uji River during the 1184 Battle of Uji, where Takatsuna raced a rival to be the first to reach the enemy on the opposite shore. 

Unframed, measures 17 1/4" X 11 1/2"

Excellent condition, shows tear at upper left corner, as photographed. Tear is not in image. Attached to matte at right edge with 2 strips of acid free tape. Does not touch image.
