Antique MALAITA Solomon Islands Woven Black Palm Frond Head COMB Set
Set of 3 Malaita Solomon Islands ceremonial head combs, dating from late 19th to early 20th century.
Black palm fronds are artfully woven together with orchid fiber dyed geru root, fern, and wood teeth, worn by men for rank and status. Smallest measures 7 3/4" x 1 3/4", largest measures 11" x 2". Excellent condition.
