Antique CHINESE Ornate Embroidered Silk PEACOCK Bird Festival Childrens Hat

Chinese children's festival hat, likely from the 19th century. These hats were traditionally worn by children, particularly boys, to protect them from evil spirits and bring good fortune. Made of silk and features ornate embroidery and appliqués, in bright colors showing a peacock and dragonfly. These hats were often worn during special occasions such as Lunar New Year celebrations and festivals. 

Excellent condition, very nice embroidery details, shows light wear and discoloration. I will include with hat stand for display purposes.
