Wonderful set of 10 Chippendale style dark wood frame dining chairs. Eight of the chairs are side chairs with a slightly skinnier frame and no arm rests, two of them have arm rests and are meant for the head of the table.
The intricate backs of the chairs are a classic Chippendale style, which takes from 18th century French Rococo curves, Chinese Chinoiseries, and elements from gothic architecture. The front feet of the chairs are carved to resemble clawed feet atop a sphere.
Most chairs are in good condition. Two side chairs need repairs, wood separating, not structurally sound. Upholstery is easily removeable and are custom made. Fabric in great condition. Scratching on areas of high use.
