Antique Early Meiji Japanese Keyaki and Cypress Tansu Chest With Hand Wrought Iron Hardware
Gorgeous antique Japanese Tansu chest with Keyaki wood front panels for the drawers and Cypress wood for the sides, top and back. One full length drawer across the top, four small drawers down the right side and three medium drawers on the left. Each drawer has an intricate hand-wrought iron lock plate and handle pulls. Key is not included so the drawers do not lock but they still add a beautiful and historic element that often isn't found in chest of drawers today.
Drawers open easily, no sticking. The bottom of the drawers have some separation between the boards that small objects could fall through. This is not damage and is just a characteristic of centuries old furniture. There is natural wear and tear on edges and the feet, nothing that doesn't come with owning a piece of furniture over 100 years old from the other side of the world. In great, sturdy condition for its age.
