As found on qart: Manes Lichtenberg was born in New York City in 1920. His formal training began at the Art Students League in New York as well as the Acadamie de la grand Chaumiere in France.
Lichtenberg’s style is said to be a unique blend of realism and impressionism, which has gained him recognition throughout the United States and Europe. He has won many awards including the Gold Medal of Honor of the Allied Artist of America. In addition he has received the Silver Medal in the International Prix Maurice Utrillo in Paris, and the Bronze Medal of the Prix Othon Friesz.
