INUIT Canadian MABEL NIGIYOK Signed Framed CLEANING FISH Stenciled Print

Canadian Inuit Native art by Mabel Nigiyok (1938 -)showing a woman preparing a fish. Although the picture is rendered in what appears to be the utmost simplicity, there is a warmth and liveliness to the image that makes it memorable.

Mabel Nigiyok joined the Holman Printshop in 1981, just before it converted from stonecut prints to stenciled prints. Each year a collection of these prints were released, featuring the best works from several of the community’s artists. This one is most likely from the late 80's
