Southeast Asian hollow bronze rain drum with verdigris patina, engraved handles, and intricate geometric patterns. The top of the drum features a 12 pointed star banded by concentric circles. Could function indoor or outdoors as a side table or stool, or simply as a decorative piece.
Rain drums, also referred to as frog drums, originated with the Ðông Son Culture of ancient North Vietnam and South China (ca 1000 BCE-100 CE) as sacred ritual objects.
