Incredible Mexican folk art Milagros charm box hand crafted by the renowned artist, Estela Ogazon (1966 - 2009). Heavily embellished with Milagros charms meticulously nailed and layered in stylized pattern to box. It is a true beauty with many different styles and layers of charms to contemplate.

The charms covering the box are religious folk offerings traditionally used in Mexico and Latin America to petition for divine help, protection, or to express gratitude for answered prayers. Each charm can have a specific symbolic meaning. This one has a plethora of animals, body parts, figures, celestial objects....every time I look at it, I see something new. 

Hand crafted, rustic dark wood. Hinged lid opens to deep, spacious compartment. 

Measures 12 1/2" x 7" x 6 1/4" tall.

Excellent condition.
