Antique Korean Bandaji Tansu Chest Joseon Dynasty Style Elmwood With Brass Hardware
Gorgeous elmwood bandaji tansu chest with tons of storage space inside, top half of front panel drops open and closes with an antique locking mechanism. Intricate and decorative brass hardware has been replaced, not original but still antique. Rectangular body on curved feet under a curved frame. Wood has warped in some areas, mainly the top panel, either due to age or quality of furniture building in the 1900s. Top surface has some uneven areas and a less than straight edge along the back. This chest is made in the style of the Joseon Dynasty.
The bottom of the front left foot has been repaired, minimal damage and nothing noticeable to unknowing eyes. There is natural wear and tear on edges and the feet, nothing that doesn't come with owning a piece of furniture over 100 years old from the other side of the world. In great, sturdy condition for it's age.
