Magnificent bronze modernist cube sculpture attributed to Frank Boyden, an Oregon based artist who worked through sculptural mediums to investigate natural forms and the environment. This sculpture comes in two parts, and is extremely heavy. The seam near the bottom of the sculpture is where the two pieces come apart. The top and bottom piece connect in a satisfying way that makes it hard to know whether the bottom half is a perfectly stylized stand or a part of the piece as a whole. There are chunks of bronze that appear to be growing from one of the top corners.
Boyden constructed this piece using a mold, the original casting spots can be seen on the inside.
