The ten original etchings by Warrington Colescott for Death in Venice, by Thomas Mann, published by Aquarius Press, 1971 in original box and in excellent condition. Signed, limited editions #8 of 122.
The principal edition, numbered from 1/122, of which one hundred are available in portfolio form. Eatch etching is numbered, titled, and signed by the artist. In addition, there are 8 portfolios, designated as A through H, reserved for the collaborators, and ten portfolios, plus 5 suites of the etchings, designated as Artist's Proofs.
There is also a preferred edition limited to 25 portfolios, each containing the ten original color etchings on Fabriano Classico paper, numbered from I/XXV to XXV/XXV, and each titled and signed by the arist, plus an additional suite of the ten etchings in black and white, numbered from I/XXV to XXV/XXV, and each titled and signed by the artist.
Also included is a complimentary copy of Death in Venice by Thomas Mann (Alfred A Knopf, 1965)
All of the etchings were printed in the Summer of 1971, under the supervision of the artist at the Mantegna I Press in Hollandale, Wisconsin. Design and topography are by Philip Grushkin. The portfolio was made by Moroquain, Inc. of New York.
